Overgrown vegetation continues to obstruct the public footway on Burnell Close, despite North Northamptonshire Council p

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown Private Vegetation category anonymously at 07:19, Tuesday 25 August 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9997945.

This issue was originally reported to North Northamptonshire Council via FixMyStreet on 10 December 2023 and has now been ongoing for over 2 years and 7 months. The Council has previously acknowledged the problem, arranged contractor works and issued correspondence requiring vegetation to be cut back to maintain a minimum 1 metre clear footway. The Council's most recent letter, dated 21 July 2026, required the relevant vegetation to be trimmed within 14 days. That period has now expired, yet multiple sections of the footway remain obstructed. I am a wheelchair user and cannot pass these sections safely or independently, meaning I am forced into the carriageway to continue along the road. This remains a serious accessibility and safety issue. The Council has confirmed that enforcement activity within Burnell Close is ongoing, but the physical obstruction remains. Please urgently inspect the affected sections and take the necessary enforcement action to ensure the vegetation is cut back sufficiently to provide a continuous, safe and accessible footway for wheelchair users.
