Deep pothole near foot of bridge

Last week at least three vehicles turned up with traffic lights to repair the two very deep potholes on the lhs of the road next to the old railway bridge as you leave the village. These have been there for many months. I thought on passing the work vehicles, at last the potholes are to be repaired. Alas, after an hour or more the vehicles were gone and one of the two deep holes remains. Where is the common sense in leaving the remaining hole. Unless I am missing something this seems a scandalous waste of money and resources. We surely deserve better service as we all pay ever increasing council tax demands and road fund fees I am a keen motorcyclist and the standard of our local roads is disturbing to say the least, in fact I would say dangerous.
