Potential danger after resurfacing

The area around the pedestrian crossing was resurfaced earlier this year. I reported in April that the chippings and lumps of tarmac were spread over the pavement, accumulating in the gutter and being washed into the drains (ref 9275093). I followed this up with a phone call today and was told it would be chased up. The chippings do not seem to have stuck to the tarmac so, as you can see from the reflection of headlights, there is now a very smooth road surface on the approach to the crossing. I am concerned that in wet or icy conditions this may lead to skidding approaching the crossing especially as many HGVs ignore the weight restriction on this section of road and, along with other vehicles, do not keep to the speed limit.
