Council vehicle's work smashed the window of my house
Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 18:50, Wednesday 10 June 2026
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9597690.
Today, during the council fixing the issue I reported (report reference 8951126), the vehicle/machinery used sucked up the drain's blockage. In this process, many stones from the drain/road have struck my house and shattered a window. I received an email confirming the council attending my reported concern exactly when the window shattered. I had an adult within my home witness it (which I have CCTV to prove their presence). I wish to hear from a representative from the council to discuss this further. Thank you very much.

I have checked my CCTV and can see two council workmen. One man is using a hedge trimmer to cut the hedge. The other man is using a leaf blower and blasting all the cuttings back towards the verge (not collecting any of it up) which is undoubtedly the cause of my original report for the blocked drain. This is what was witnessed by an adult in my home today and what caused the loud bang upstairs - an object shattering my window. CCTV shows the witness enter my home before the council workers begin their work on the lane and them then hearing so many stones hitting the windows of the house that she went and checked them all to check for damage. The outside pane of the glazing is completely shattered by a single impact hit.
