Large section of parapet on medieval bridge over River Nene has been pushed into the river. Criminal damage.

Vandals have pushed a section of the stone parapet on the medieval bridge over the River Nene at Irthlingborough into the river. I tried reporting to the Police with no success and and have to use this option as trying to phone NNC is virtually impossible. The bridge is in urgent need of attention - Historic England are aware.

We can confirm that we are aware of the damage to the bridge and are currently working with Historic England. We have attended the site and taken action to make the area safe. Further works will be scheduled as soon as possible.
