Stump in pavement / footpath

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 17:20, Thursday 23 April 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 9344148.

The tree stump is a nasty trip hazard. At the weekend, due to lighting, this was not properly visible resulting in my I foot catching on this stump and tripping me up and I fell heavily onto the path, banging my head on the metal railing. I have badly bruised my leg and back. I have been very sore all week. I have struggled to get out on a walk all week. I walk / jog every day so I am fairly fit/flexible. Should someone with less mobility hit this, they might sustain very serious injuries. My trainers are damaged at the toe and I grazed/ cut my leg through my leggings.

If my friend had not helped me, I could have fallen through the hedge and down the slope toward the embankment fencing.

I cannot believe that there has been remedial tarmac works at this stump area, so NNC or your contractors purposely left this trip hazard in the public way without considering the damage this could cause. This is neglect. This has been there sometime.

What three words. ///prop.enable.hope
