Large deep pothole unable to avoid due to oncoming traffic

Loud bang when forced to go through pothole causing damage to car, the full extent of which will not be known until my mechanic has examined the vehicle. An avoidable incident as the hole is surroundrd by faded yellow markers indicating that this problem has existed for some time.
