Multiple potholes

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by Samith Pirisyalage at 07:33, Sunday 8 February 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8863851.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention the ongoing issue of multiple potholes on [insert road name/location].

I have observed that repair works have recently been carried out on some of these potholes, which I appreciate. However, the current approach of addressing individual potholes as they appear does not seem to provide a lasting solution. In my view, repeatedly repairing one or two potholes at a time is not only ineffective but may also represent an inefficient use of public funds.

Given the extent of the deterioration, I strongly recommend that the damaged section of tarmac be fully removed and resurfaced rather than continuing with temporary or isolated repairs. A comprehensive resurfacing would address the root cause of the problem, improve road safety, and likely result in cost savings over the long term by reducing the need for frequent maintenance.

I respectfully urge the council to consider this matter and assess whether a full resurfacing of the affected area would be a more sustainable and economical solution.

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully, Samith Pirisyalage.
