Dangerous potholes in St Johns Street

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 10:00, Thursday 29 January 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8792891.

The first picture is of a pothole that has been filled in the past but keeps coming back. It is on the side of the road outside the Quaker Meeting House. The second is right in the middle of the road - again, it has been filled but is now worse than before. The third picture is the huge water filled pothole outside York Ward & Rowlatt's exit. Anglian Water have investigated last year but haven't resolved the problem. It has been reported to them again. In the meantime, this road is becoming increasingly dangerous to both motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

  • A temporary fix has happened to one of the potholes but not the others. Why do people come along and fix a huge pothole but leave others only feet away? Wouldn't it make sense to send a truck and a team with sufficient material to fill all the potholes in a small-ish area?
