Unfinished Repairs
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8779294.
Last August, work was begun to patch holes at the top of Wood Street in Geddington. However, the patches were below mud and water levels which soon filled with both. Also repairs were made to the path leading to the Brickyard Garden and the Chase, (a frequently used path for vehicles, horses, bikes and walkers, some at night) but only 10 feet were completed. A further section was dragged, presumably in preparation for further asphalt, but leaving the road in worse condition. The dragging also lowered the road surface below surrounding area meaning it floods more frequently. As the surrounding fields belong to the Boughton Estate, requests were made to them, but they insist it is the responsibility of the Council. Our mandate requires the Geddington Brickyard Garden CIC to be open 24/7 and that is clearly not possible now. Can you send someone to make an assessment and contact the Brickyard before someone is injured?

Main roblems ar after rain, because the road is lower than the surrounding fields now, and of course, the potholes can't be seen

As I mentioned in the last questionaire, part of the problem is the last work lowered the road below the verges, though the fields surrounding the road are lower. If a few places on the side of the road could be dug out, the road would drain, make the potholes more visible, and be less hazardous for bikes, horses and pedestrians who regularly use it
