Public footpath rear of Derling drive

Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 10:42, Saturday 24 January 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8756753.

This footpath has been the subject of conversations for over three years, yet no maintenance action has been taken during this time.

Although a barrier was placed on Butts Road, pedestrians continue to ignore it and use the passageway, which is now dangerous and extremely slippery. The attached notice states that the area is closed, but the dates shown have expired, meaning the closure is no longer formally in effect.

I would be grateful if you could confirm what actions will now be taken. As it stands, the barrier is an eyesore, and the passageway presents a clear Health & Safety risk for anyone attempting to use it.

Your prompt response and clarification would be appreciated.
