Japanese Knotweed has taken hold and is thriving in a woodland area

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 09:18, Saturday 3 January 2026

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8619142.

Hi, I live at 9 Lacemakers Court which backs up to the little woodland area opposite Jubilee Park and next to the Rugby Club, there is a patch of Japanese Knotweed growing rapidly and I thought I should report it.

My old neighbour at No10 Lacemakers, John (he has moved now) was always fly tipping his garden waste out there so I assume the Knotweed has originated there.

To find the Knotweed, enter the wood via the little wooden pedestrian gate that opens onto the A6 (Bedford Rd) proceed forwards along the path with the houses at the top of Lacemakers Court on your left-hand side.

Around 40 ft from the gate by which you entered is a slim, flattened area of grass that functions as a pathway from the wood into the houses already mentioned. Follow that small pathway and on your left you will find the Knotweed.

If you need me to assist or show you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
