60mph signs missing.
Reported via desktop in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 15:50, Wednesday 29 October 2025
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council 4 hours, 42 minutes later. ref: 8353208.
When a single carriageway road is separated by a physical separation, it effectively becomes a dual carriageway and the traffic speed limit changes to a higher speed limit, in this case 70mph which is not satisfactory when you have traffic joining it from the central reservation from stationary. I have attached a picture of a similar situation at Wansford which is controlled by National Highways.

Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. The legal speed limit on this road is unrestricted (national speed) and therefore the signage in place is correct in line with Department of Transport advice at this time. However, we note your concerns related to the speed of traffic. The Speed Limit Review Panel will consider your comments in the next meeting and discuss if it would be appropriate to reduce the speed here, which requires a change in the Traffic Regulation Order. We will update you once the panel has discussed this. Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Thank you for your patience. The panel have discussed this further and agree the current speed limit (derestricted) and signage is appropriate for this short section. Available speed data and accident data shows a good compliance to speed here and no immediate safety concerns. Please be assured we will continue to monitor the area.
