Speed limit signs obscured by flags

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 8115491.

Someone (presumably trying to make a xenophobic point) has put flags up on the lampposts coming into the village, obscuring the 30mph speed limit sign. It is a safety issue and they should be removed.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Thank you for your enquiry, we will continue to monitor this location and should the assessment of the safety to the highway network change, we shall act accordingly.

    The Councils position on flags and markings on the public highway is that:

    - Flags and markings on the public highway are unauthorised.
    - They will be removed where they present a safety risk.
    - The Council’s priority remains the safe management of the highway network
