The zebra has red paint graffiti on each white block to produce a St George cross - this is part of a far-right backed and promoted campaign to push anti-immigration and divisive rhetoric.

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Thank you for your enquiry, we will continue to monitor this location and should the assessment of the safety to the highway network change, we shall act accordingly.

    The Councils position on flags and markings on the public highway is that:

    - Flags and markings on the public highway are unauthorised.
    - They will be removed where they present a safety risk.
    - The Council’s priority remains the safe management of the highway network
