Blocked French Gully Drains nearest to White Hart Pub

Reported via desktop in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 14:29, Wed 30 July 2025

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7955115.

In street outside the White Hart Pub, 11 West Street, Geddington NN14 1BD. French Gully Drains in road next to kerb, providing road drainage to a main gully drain, are completely blocked with silt. This causes street flooding from surface water and the pooling in the road is splashed onto the front walls of Pub by cars passing by. This is causing significant damage to historical stonework on the pub and splashes over front door. It also splashes onto footpaths and pedestrians. This blockage has existed for the last 3 months with no change. This is now urgent as causing property damage.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 14:38, Wed 27 August 2025

  • Drains still blocked after just some light rain. Road is so narrow that wide vehicles like trucks, buses & tractors all drive through this and splash the building.

I repeat this ineffective drainage solution is causing damage to my property and needs to be urgently resolved.

Vehicles are also driving on the pavement and you can see damage to the pathway. Please rectify this also.

Can you please advise when repairs are scheduled to commence and be completed by?
