Investigating
Obstruction on path.
Reported via iOS in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 18:59, Tuesday 25 March 2025
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 7337657.
There is a Clearway cone with some police tape on (not a genuine police cone) another range cone and 2 wheelie bins constantly on the path, on the edge of the kerb. These have been out all week, it is Tuesday evening and the brown bin collection was last Friday, the next black bin collection is this Friday, the bins have clearly been presented too early and not being removed to the curtlidge as per the guidelines published by the council.

There are now planters on the paths and signage stating that there is CCTV. There is no clear signage in accordance with the GDPR of who operates the CCTV scheme and who to contact regarding the footage. This is a clear breech of public safety and needs to have action from the appropriate government bodies. The cameras are in a private residential property and recording young school children and their parents getting in and out of cars.

FYI the pots have been glued to the pavement so are a hazard to people as they are trip hazards. Do these have planning permission to be installed on the pavement?
Has a council official been to the location to investigate yet?

Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry. At the time of our inspection the bins and cone had been removed. A letter will be sent to the resident in relation to the pots and a follow up inspection will take place w/c 28/04/25
The CCTV will probably need reporting to the police

Thank you. It’s likely the resident of Number 2 and some of the residents in the block of flats Numbers 61-67, as the CCTV is in one of the flats. The bins were from several different addresses.

The pavement has been resurfaced and the pots are still there/been put back by the work people.

Why has resurfacing of this pavement been carried out when it wasn’t in a poor condition? Other roads in the tillage are crumbling EG The Ridge, but your wasting precious tax payers money on this pavement and Glenfield Drive (which is in a worse state than before and has tar up kerbs etc and looks unsightly).
