Investigating
Footpath signs removed , blocked and tapped off one end.
Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 15:16, Saturday 11 January 2025
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6965894.
Sign removed and gate locked at main road. No access. Sign needs putting up again ASAP. Farmer has removed and has admitted locally to “getting the footpath closed passed my house”.
The other end the access has been blocked by trees that have been cut and then moved to block access and tape .. again the footpath route that runs in front of the farm house is absolutely not clear…
Completely unacceptable for a house owner to think they can block and /or discourage access to a right of way that’s been there for years and years!!!!!

Investigation: Ongoing (Reported to a third party) - We can confirm that at the time of inspection the gate was not locked, the access was open and fully accessible. The footpath signs have not been removed, there is a fingerpost in situ which is currently obscured by vegetation. We are already aware of this matter and works have been instructed for the vegetation to be cleared.
We can confirm that the path has been taped off for safety reasons due to a large fallen tree, which is currently obstructing access. The landowner will be contacted regarding this matter, clearance works to be undertaken within the next 28 days. For more information about our services, please visit https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/ parking-roads-and-transport
