Potholes

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 14:52, Monday 6 January 2025

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6939593.

I have lived in and around Irthlingborough for the last five years, and in that time on the A6 Road station road on the bridge towards chowns Mill roundabout, has consistently had the same pothole problem and it’s the same pothole location. I don’t know if the council is trying to annoy people on purpose, or the people who try to fix potholes are amateur at best, either way, I have never known a situation where week after week, month after month, year after year, nothing is ever resolved regarding this pothole, all that ever seems to happen is a temporary fix, basically a band plaster fix, which doesn’t resolve the problem at all, because only a matter of days or weeks after this temporary fix, the pothole appears once again, causing more damage to vehicles and tires, and so many drivers, including myself have had enough. Only a few days ago in the north hence telegraph drivers had to call 999 because of damage to the car because of this pothole. Six cars were damaged because of this. So my question is, how long do drivers have to put up with the inadequacy of the councils response to so many drivers complaints? The response by just placing a bit of tarmac over the hole is not good enough as a response. How many more years do we have to put up with this bridge having the same pothole problem before this escalates? Common sense would inform you that clearly there’s a bigger problem here at play on the bridge that needs to be resolved once and for all.
