Lowest point in village storm drain - always blocked
Reported via mobile in the Blocked/Damaged category by Jason Tate at 19:56, Tue 1 October 2024
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6540033.
The his drain has continued to be blocked for sometime after the last round of drain pumping. It was confirmed it needed a stronger pump 2 years+ ago but never done. It is the lowest storm drain that feeds willow Brook next to the flood plain. The road regularly floods all the way to the house opposite (15 bridge st) and is a major flood hazard. The other single drain is frequently taking all the flood water and has to be cleared by residents daily. I would class this as a major flood risk. Thank you.

Investigation: Completed (Routine Planned Maintenance) - Thank you for your enquiry. North Northants received an extreme amount of rainfall over a short period of time, resulting in severe flash flooding in many areas. The heavy rainfall had the ability to overwhelm the surface water drainage system. If your report is a repeat flooding incident, please update this enquiry with further information, so that we can investigate. If this is not a repeat incident, we will close the enquiry after 7 days and the highways team will continue to monitor the location.
