Vegetation in the road - missed when you last visited

Reported via mobile in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 20:08, Fri 26 July 2024

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6281266.

When are you planning on returning to finish the job you started on Friday afternoon?

By just closing the request on your system without carrying out the work is wasting everybody’s time and effort.

Please deal with the issue properly and remove all shrubs from the road.

  • This is a road. The road goes right up to the 12ft wall. I am not aware that trees growing out of the road surface is “normal”! I would have thought that the “fix” for this issue would be to remove the vegetation growing out of the road surface, remove all of the detritus collected at the base of the wall having been trapped by the growth of the trees, and as such preserve both the road and the wall, minimising the risk of future damage and claims should the wall become unstable? This light trim has not “fixed” the issue.

  • Why does this meet NCC criteria and work is confirmed to be carried out, and then the job is rejected a week later? Is the NCC Highways inspection manual available for the public to read?

  • At what point will you actually turn up and carry out the task of removing the shrubs from the road. Who ever it is that is ‘trimming’ this obstruction is just being a jobsworth and doing the bare minimum to ‘tick the box’ to close out the task. On past performance this will remain on your to do list for many years to come.

Great use of my council tax.
