This is such a dangerous lack of maintenance which needs resolving immediately. It is creating hourly risks to road users on an historically bad junction even when properly maintained with the grass cut to an appropriate length. What can be done to get this expedited?
Additionally the road to Harrington from Junction 3 of the A14 is closed for Anglian Water works in that road which is pushing road users to use this junction who are likely not used to its dangers.
Please respond with cutting the grass all around this junction including from the direction of Lamport where the high visibility signs installed to reduce historic accidents over the years when cars missed the corner and hit the then barrier and ended up in the farmer’s field with varying damage to property and people. These photos taken in the evening of the 15th July show the vegetation on the right obscuring the highly visible signs as you approach the right angle bend to continue towards Rothwell. This is a 60 mph road.
The signs on the left are obscured by the overgrowing trees/vegetation including the "Rothwell" sign.
The larger sign has lost the right hand bar due to a previous accident where a car went straight on and clipped it so needs replacing.
These photos show the significant risk for motorists coming from Rothwell and wishing to turn right to Harrington as they are completely hidden until they pull out into the carriageway to be able to see any vehicles coming from the Lamport direction. The signage is there because of past accidents and the dangerous junction and it needs the vegetation cutting back to enable road users to understand the nature of the junction.
