New road layout

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6182836.

The new roundabout lane markings need looking at. Approaching the round about from Weldon there are 3 lanes (left, straight, straight/right). Yet there are three lanes on the roundabout. If you choose the far right lane to go straight over to the Holiday Inn roundabout, your only option if you follow the lanes is a complete lap of the roundabout or to go back on yourself.

The left hand land for left only takes you straight over.

I've seen a near miss ever day because of this

  • Please fix this issue as soon as possible as this is really dangerous! I don't know who accept this but it is really bad planning which soon will cause accident

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - We can confirm that we are aware of the concerns regarding the lane markings and queries over priorities on the new roundabout. The design is currently undergoing a road safety audit and an on site review with ongoing monitoring. North Northamptonshire Council will review the issue and look to resolve the issue with the designers.
