Tarmac in centre of road has disentgrated
Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 15:54, Sun 30 June 2024
Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6173161.
The red tarmac in the centre of the road has broken up leaving large holes in numerous locations between Desborough and Rothwell. It is particularly bad at the bottom of the hill near Desborough. It makes it impossible to overtake slow moving vehicles such as tractors without risking damage to your own vehicle, making drivers behind you become impatient.

Investigation: Completed (No Action Necessary) - The red section is there as a safety deterrent to prevent overtaking because its at the bottom of the hill, where visibility is limited.

This is unacceptable. The “red section” has disappeared and in any case it is not illegal to cross the centre of the road as there are no solid white lines. It is still part of the carriageway and you have a responsibility to repair it in accordance with the Council’s own maintenance criteria. I suggest you reconsider or I shall be submitting a formal complaint.
