Very poor visibility at junction

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility category anonymously at 17:08, Wed 12 June 2024

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 6099973.

On both sides of this busy and very fast junction the greenery is overgrown over a number of years and requires a harsh cut-back to allow a better view for traffic attempting to pull out onto Moonshine gap. Without this there is a very high risk of a serious collision due to vehicles being unsighted and hence pulling out into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The work needed is greater than just cutting down the annual grass growth and requires more substantial cut back of trees etc

  • It is now 22nd July, nothing has been done. I risk my life every day trying to get out of this junction safely. It is not good enough. The only way to get out of the junction with out causing an accident is relying on the oncoming traffic to stop and let you out.

  • Issue remains although obviously less dense at this time of year. It is frustrating as very recently the length of the mad mile has been cut back to clear the road. Could this not have been extended round the junction at the same time to clear this issue and save a repeat visit?

  • Issue remains. The grass verge has been cut at least once but where the hedge and overgrowth has grown out, this has still not been cut back. Where the sign post is located, the growth all needs clearing arround and behind it to give a clear view when trying to pull out of this junction. It is a shame this small additional activity could not have been instructed during the verge cutting activities to save cost.
