Not fixed at all

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 09:59, Fri 17 May 2024

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 5985434.

I can't actually believe that over 4 years and you STILL haven't manged to paint some lines. Why has it been marked as fixed and closed on this report? https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 4286615

As you can quite clearly see from the photos the white lines HAVEN'T been painted. So it's not been "fixed" at all. Someone has painted the cycle and foot crossings and around 20 yards of white lines at the mini roundabout. But the massive section that needed painting hasn't been touched. One has to wonder just how stupid the people are that go out to do work and can't even do a simple job like painting some white lines. Over FOUR YEARS. Council and Highways aren't fit for purpose.

Updates

  • Thank you for reporting a fault. Officers will now investigate the concerns and this may take up to 5 working days. If you believe that your concerns are urgent then please phone us.

  • Just to make it clear what you considered "fixed" the blue arrows indicate what has been painted. Right next to the areas with red lines, denoting what they apparently couldn't see needed doing. Yet claim as "fixed".

  • Despite supplying photos of how they haven't "fixed" this, they still haven't bothered. Happy to come along and hold your hand if you need it spelling out like one would to a child.

  • Even the simple tasks take an age. Years to paint some road markings, despite having been out and painted "some" of the solid white lines, pedestrian and bike crossings. Nobody had the intelligence to paint all the solid white lines.

  • Quelle surprise! They haven't been done. Utterly pathetic. Should have your contract cancelled, the roads are a disgrace and even a bit of painting of lines can't be done.

  • It's been over 4 years, I can assure you that in those years, the road has been bone dry for a significant number of days when the work could have been carried out. Very poor excuse.

  • Inept, useless and overpaid. Please do away with Councils and the equally appalling companies they pay (over the odds) to "maintain" and fix our roads.

  • I'm thinking cake, jelly and ice cream for the 5th birthday of them not being painted. Party bags for everyone who attends. If anyone has a speaker they can bring I can hook it up to my iPod to play some tunes.

In short, no, they still haven't been painted. Useless council, useless highways, useless Kier who I think carry out the work. I use that term very loosely describing them.

  • It was changed to "In progress". Obviously The Council have a different definition of what that means. Everyone should cancel their Council tax payment and change it to "In progress" as it seems to be acceptable in their eyes.

  • Despite it being marked as "in progress" the lines remain unpainted. Yet just along the road they have done the white lines. Another fine display of poor planning and communication but an excellent display of just how they waste OUR tax money.

  • Pointless updates, a claim the work was "in progress" at one point. Still not done. It's some solid white lines, which is around 5 years and still not done. A shining example of the standard of work, or lack there of from The Council. Shouldn't be in charge of running a bath, let alone what they are in charge of!

  • 6/7 years to paint some lines. I assume if there's an accident due to someone passing another car, The Council assume full responsibility due to not having painted the solid white lines. Saying they'll be completed by October 2026. Pathetic.
