This new road needs cats-eyes or other refelective lane markers

Reported via desktop anonymously at 08:56, Wed 25 January 2023

Sent to North Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. ref: 4168179.

The new stretch of dual carriageway of the A509 from the A14 needs centre line reflective devices - cats-eyes - and ideally lane edge markings that can bee seen in the darkness. It has a 50 mph speed limit and sweeping curves so a high speed collision could easily happen. The old stretched cats-eyes, albeit battered and worn, so why not the new road?

  • The new stretch of dual carriageway between the A509 and the A14 needs centre line reflective devices - cat's-eyes - and ideally lane edge markings that can be seen in the darkness. It has a 50 mph speed limit and sweeping curves and has no lighting, so a high speed collision could easily happen. The old stretch had cat's-eyes and lane edge painted lines, so why not the new road?
